1200 Sydney parents sent letter about alleged child offender | Mamamia

The NSW Police Force and the Australian Federal Police have contacted parents and carers as part of an investigation into a man who worked with children in Sydney.

The Sydney Morning Herald reports that as many as 1200 families have been contacted.

The Australian Federal Police charged the man in October 2024 with offences relating to alleged criminal behaviour, per a media release.

Since then, he has remained in custody and poses no threat to children.

The man cannot be identified as a strict non-publication order is in place.

[Ed: Surely these non-publication orders are protecting the perpetrator rather than the victims.]
