RANZCP issues official position on how to treat trans kids

Australia’s governing body for psychiatrists has moved away from endorsing a “gender-affirmative approach” to treat the growing number of young people identifying as transgender, in its first specific policy on gender dysphoria.

The position statement, titled “Recognising and addressing the mental health needs of people experiencing gender dysphoria/gender incongruence”, says care should be patient-centred and non-judgmental. However, it also acknowledges “multiple perspectives and views” about whether a gender-affirmative approach is appropriate for children and teenagers and highlights the lack of research on the long-term outcomes.

The document defines a “gender-affirmative approach” as one that accepts rather than questions a child’s statements about their gender identity, potentially easing access to medical treatment such as puberty blockers and hormones with parental permission.

This is the college’s first position statement specifically on gender dysphoria but it partly replaces a 2016 position statement on the mental health needs of LGBTQI people, which more strongly endorsed gender affirmation for young people. The previous position statement pointed to international guidelines endorsing puberty blockers for eligible adolescents and said evidence suggested good outcomes from this approach.

Male, ‘Transgender’ Inmate Who Bit Off Woman’s Nose Seeks Move to Women’s Prison – Women Are Human

UK — Weoley Castle, Birmingham. A 61-year-old male who was sent to men’s prison after pursuing a woman into the street and biting off her nose has put in a request for transfer to men’s prison.
According to testimony heard by Birmingham Crown Court, the attack was so brutal that surgeons had to graft part of her forehead onto her nose. The woman must undergo further surgeries, and has been receiving counseling for trauma resulting from the assault. She says her “life” and her “household” were left “destroyed” by the vicious attack.
Mr Gills pleaded guilty to Wounding With Intent, which carries a maximum sentence of life imprisonment. Maxine Styles argued that a “lengthy” jail sentence would impact on her client’s plans for “gender reassignment surgery.” Despite acknowledging that the attack was an “unwarranted, aggressive act of violence” that must have brought the survivor “unbearable pain,” Judge Avik Mukherjee sentenced the perpetrator to just four years in prison.
Mr Gills has put in a request to serve out his sentence in a women’s prison. The request is currently delayed due to the fact that Mr Gills does not have a Gender Recognition Certificate (GRC). A GRC is obtained from a panel after an individual has received a diagnosis of gender dysphoria from two doctors, and has been “living in their gender” for two years and vows to continue doing so until death.

Women’s Cooee – Listen to Women – Cut the Bias

We are women.

We are feminists. We are left of centre. We are Australian. We believe in biological reality.

We believe our ABC should balance its coverage of gender issues.

A woman is an adult human female. Human beings are not clownfish.

What do we want ABC to do?

We support ‘our’ ABC as a publicly funded broadcaster and we support adequate funding for the ABC.

HOWEVER, as women, we are profoundly disappointed in the ABC’s coverage of issues around gender identity ideology, an ideology that harms women and children by

  • threatening the survival of women-only service provisions, including prisons, refugees, and victim support and health care services
  • justifying the intrusion of men and boys into single-sex spaces aimed at guaranteeing the safety, privacy, and dignity of women and girls
  • erasing the category of women’s sport
  • reassigning the ‘gender’ of children who do not conform to sex-role stereotypes or wh are diagnosed with gender dysphoria, with subsequent medical interventions that carry a high risk of long-term adverse physical and psychological consequences
  • being based on the erroneous notion that humans can change sex: Human beings, unlike some other species such as clownfish, cannot change sex!

We call on the ABC to present accurate information about women and cover issues around transgenderism with impartiality, responsibility, independence, and integrity.

Transgender sport safety and fairness concerns raised by female volleyball players

Female community sporting groups are raising concerns about the issue of transgender athletes playing in women’s’ competitions, saying officials need to begin addressing the issue and lay out clear guidelines.
In Sydney, female volleyballers are concerned about playing against biological males who identify as women, on both safety and fairness grounds.
Leading women in sport are calling for transgender players to compete in mixed competitions and not against women-only teams.
Save Women’s Sport Australasia co-founder Katherine Deves said the Queensland case showed a “prioritisation of men and boys”, not inclusion.
“Not only are we being asked to make sacrifices for men who self-declare a special identity, we are now being asked to sacrifice our own competitions to boys and men who simply want to play in our sports codes,” Ms Deves said.
“The right of little girls, teenage girls and young women to play sport, to play safely and fairly, is simply collateral damage to those who promote policies favouring gender identity over sex.
“The evidence unequivocally demonstrates men retain a significant performance advantage even if they have a ‘female gender identity’ and artificially reduce their testosterone levels.
“It is simply not possible to accommodate inclusion, safety and fair competition principles equally. Women and girls are being asked to sacrifice their right to fair competition and safety in order for men and boys to be included.”

There’s More to Gender Critical Comedy than Dave Chappelle

From South Park to folk parody songs, these comedians have braved the cancel mob to address gender identity

Like the rest of the entertainment business, comedy has gone Woke and there is little room for deviation from the list of Fools-Guild-Approved Jokes that comics are allowed to tell. But there are a few prominent comedians who are willing to risk the wrath of the mob for the sake of comedy–and the truth.

The most recent and “controversial” case is Dave Chappelle. In his new Netflix special The Closer, Chappelle expressed gender-critical views, noting the “cancelling” of J.K. Rowling and declaring himself on “Team TERF.”

Also, in what has become a widely-shared clip of South Park among the GC community, Trey Parker and Matt Stone showed the absurdity of a man comp.

Debuting with his song Boys Will Be Girls in 2020, Francis Aaron is a musician writing satirical rap songs that takes pointed aim at the absurdity of the TRA movement and wokeness in general.

Another YouTuber poking fun at the TRA movement in the form of song parodies is Mr. Menno.

One of the few women putting out GC song parodies on YouTube is Ali Bee. In what can only be described as “GC folk comedy” (a genre that needs to be much bigger).

One of the only stand-up comedians to work gender critical ideas into her routine is Irish comedian Mary Bourke.

It may seem trivial but one of the most crucial things we can do in this culture war is to be able to laugh at how ridiculous it all is. Because we all know that a man’s greatest fear is having women laugh at him.

‘We’re being pressured into sex by some trans women’ – BBC News

Is a lesbian transphobic if she does not want to have sex with trans women? Some lesbians say they are increasingly being pressured and coerced into accepting trans women as partners – then shunned and even threatened for speaking out. Several have spoken to the BBC, along with trans women who are concerned about the issue too.

I became aware of this particular issue after I wrote an article about sex, lies and legal consent.

Several people got in touch with me to say there was a “huge problem” for lesbians, who were being pressured to “accept the idea that a penis can be a female sex organ”.

One compared going on dates with trans women to so-called conversion therapy – the controversial practice of trying to change someone’s sexual orientation.

“I knew I wasn’t attracted to them but internalised the idea that it was because of my ‘transmisogyny’ and that if I dated them for long enough I could start to be attracted to them. It was DIY conversion therapy,” she wrote.

Another reported a trans woman physically forcing her to have sex after they went on a date.

“[They] threatened to out me as a terf and risk my job if I refused to sleep with [them],” she wrote. “I was too young to argue and had been brainwashed by queer theory so [they were] a ‘woman’ even if every fibre of my being was screaming throughout so I agreed to go home with [them]. [They] used physical force when I changed my mind upon seeing [their] penis and raped me.”

UK Police Ordered to Stop Recording Male Offenders in Female Crime Statistics – Women Are Human

UK — . On October 23, 2021, The Daily Mail reported that the Home Secretary, Priti Patel, has ordered police forces to record the sex of criminals, not their gender identity at the time of the crime.

According to the Daily Mail, “Home Office officials are working with police forces on a new procedure for officers to record the sex of criminals to ensure crime statistics are ‘more accurate’”. A number of concerned citizens and advocacy groups have been stressing the importance of having accurate data on sex. Recently in a submission to the Scottish Parliament, Professor Alice Sullivan highlighted how “small numbers of misallocated cases can have a large effect on research findings in any sub-group analysis where one sex is dominant”, using sexual offences as an example.
Clare Dimyon has also been undertaking detailed analyses of prison population data for England and Wales, using sentenced offender data provided by the Ministry of Justice (MOJ). Her analyses reveal that virtually all sexual offenders are male, while the vast majority of those offended against are female. Further, at least 79% of those defined as ‘transgender’ prisoners by the MOJ are male, and their criminality conforms to the male measure of criminality (96% of all prisoners are male).
The Home Office’s change in direction follows Ms Dimyon’s petition to the UK Government and Parliament, requesting that the law “require that all authorities throughout criminal justice system (police, courts, prisons & probation) record the biological sex of all individuals investigated, charged, convicted, imprisoned for the offence types i) VATP & ii) “sexual offences” including rape & attempted rape”. At the time of this writing, her petition had received over 12,000 signatures.

The way forward | Josephine Bartosch | The Critic Magazine

I want to talk about pride and about shame. I have never been what is crudely referred to as a “flag shagger”. I have never sat through the Queen’s Speech at Christmas, and I can’t name a single English football player.

But one thing that does make me genuinely proud to be British is that we are now known to trans activists across the world as “TERF Island”. And that’s important because the UK punches above its weight in terms of cultural exports.

What we are doing here is watched by the rest of the world. And what we are doing is standing firm against an ideology imported wholesale from the US; an ideology that has the backing of some of the world’s most powerful people.

And I’m not talking about elected politicians and peers who make the law in that building over there. I’m talking about the technocrats, those in Silicon Valley, with the power to shape minds. Social media has become a vector for body dysmorphia, and pornography has made the prospect of growing up female a sentence to sexual subservience.

Sex is not a human right | Tom Farr | The Critic Magazine

The Court of Appeal has ruled that there is no obligation on the State to allow the purchase of sex without criminal sanction.

To cut a long legal story short, the Court of Appeal overturned the original ruling of the Court of Protection, and stated that in this instance C’s care workers were categorically not permitted to facilitate the purchasing of sexual access on behalf of their learning-disabled client.

As Julie Bindel outlines in her book The Pimping of Prostitution: Abolishing the Sex Work Myth, many disability-rights activists find it extraordinarily distasteful to suggest that individuals who may have either a physical or mental impairment must rely on purchasing sexual access to lead a fulfilling and rich life — “If you have a disability, you are so undesirable that you must pay to have sex with somebody.” It is quite clear why many would, and should, find this grotesquely offensive.

As for the issue of an individual’s “rights” when it comes to prostitution, the reality is beginning to come out in the wash. For too long the discourse has focused on the rights of those purchasing sexual access — but what about the rights of the women to not be subjected to degrading and violent exploitation? It is those women who must be our concern and priority, and both the law and the Government must no longer tolerate their subjugation.
