Sydney MP Alex Greenwich’s equality bill has passed in the NSW parliament’s lower house.
The bill includes provisions to give transgender people in NSW the right to update their birth certificate without undergoing gender-affirming surgery, which the opposition and some religious groups are opposing.
The upper house is expected to vote on the bill today.
[Ed: This Bill is also strongly opposed by many left wing feminists and members of the LGB community despite the habitual failure of the ABC to mention this fact.]
