Use of puberty blockers on transgender children to be investigated

Paediatricians are to investigate the controversial drug therapies used to halt the puberty of children who want to change gender.

The Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health has asked its committee of experts to look at the ethics around the rapid increase in the use of hormone blockers to treat under-16s who identify as transgender.

It is the first time the issue has been formally addressed by the ethics and law advisory committee of the Royal College, which sets professional standards.

‘Alarming’ trans activist’s top-optional youth swim event not cleared to proceed

The event, which was proposed by controversial B.C. Human Rights Tribunal complainant Jessica Yaniv, formerly known as Jonathan Yaniv, would allow the youth to be “topless (at their leisure), in compliance with the laws of Canada” and would prohibit parents and caretakers from attending.

“Caretakers will be prohibited from attending these events as it’s considered safe and inclusive,” wrote Yaniv to council.

Yaniv is not one to shy away from the spotlight.

She is also running (and fundraising) for 2019 Miss BC.

“Being part of the LGBTQQIP2SAA (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning, intersex, pansexual, 2-spirited, asexual, and allies community), it’s important to take a stand for equality and human rights,” wrote Yaniv on her online fundraiser.

The role of social media and sexual trauma cannot be ignored in conversations about ‘mental illness’

The current online world creates an inherently traumatizing developmental environment for young people, due both to its glamorization of sexual objectification, as well as the way users are inundated by online pornography.

It’s clear that current interventions to improve mental health are not adequately addressing the underlying causes of mental illness and suicidality for young people today. In fact, psychological science as a whole has a long history of failing to address the insidious and widespread impacts of trauma, particularly sexual trauma — which so often underlies suicidality and mental illness.

Consider that not too long ago, psychiatric authorities deemed childhood sexual abuse a positive experience. To quote the 1974 edition of the Comprehensive Textbook of Psychiatry, “Incestuous activity diminishes the subject’s chance of psychosis and allows for a better adjustment to the outside world.” While incest was deemed acceptable, homosexuality was a diagnosable mental disorder, and women could be considered mentally ill if they “disobeyed” their husbands.

The denial of traumatic sexual experience and its lifelong impact heralds from a much earlier era. In 1896, Sigmund Freud, one of psychology’s best known forefathers, first presented on the sexual abuse of girls, arguing that it was both widespread and the most significant cause of later trauma (then termed hysteria) in women. However, because his paper implied that many men of “good reputation” were in fact perpetrators of abuse, he received significant backlash. On this basis, Freud not only recanted his paper, but replaced it with the theory of the “Oedipus complex” — that is, the notion that girls invent sexual fantasies about their fathers. Freud’s theory hallmarked the beginning of a theme that continues to influence the collective consciousness today: victim-blaming and the discrediting of women’s and children’s reports of abuse.

Why woke men fear real feminism

Why is anti-feminism always assumed to be a domain of the Right? Clearly, the far-Right hates feminism, because its members hate women and consider us inferior and good for nothing but breeding, cleaning and sex, but most young people in the UK today are on the Left. How then, is the current wave of mainstream misogyny being fed by the alt-Right?

I would wager that a hatred of feminists in the current climate is being fuelled by leftist men who claim to be “on the right side of history” but are, in fact, misogynists dressed up as progressives.

There is a war against feminists in the UK, and the so-called progressives are the ones throwing the grenades.

I have been told by women from a range of backgrounds and circumstances that they feel under pressure to sign up to fun feminism, support “sex work”, stripping, porn, and to chant the mantra, “trans women are women!” They are being groomed into hating actual feminism, and adopting a faux-version that does not challenge men at all.

Male Left-wing misogynists who hate feminism are too cowardly and inadequate to be open about it, and would rather rebrand feminism to suit them.

Men on the Right are not, in my view, ever going to be feminist allies, but nothing is as pernicious as a sheep in woke clothing.

Why is Aimee Challenor still advising Stonewall?

Aimee Challenor, former spokesperson for the UK Green Party and current Diversity Officer for the Coventry Liberal Democrats is about to marry a gentleman from Michigan who writes pornographic fiction about children and “mind control.”

How do we know this? Because someone posted the accusation on Mumsnet and the budding author, Nathaniel Knight, cheerfully owned up to it on Twitter.

Aimee Challenor is still — still — on the trans advisory board at Stonewall, an influential charity which advises many organizations with responsibilities for children, including the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NSPCC).

Despite the fact that Challenor’s father was charged for an unspeakably dreadful and depraved crime, Aimee continued to use him as an election agent. David Challenor is currently serving a 20+ year sentence for raping and torturing a 10-year-old girl in the attic of the family home.

As social workers often point out, it only takes a few people to groom an organization — or, in this case, a whole movement — and people like David Challenor see the destruction of safeguarding norms as a way to normalize sexual practices and exploitation of children that would ordinarily attract a criminal sanction.

Women ‘should be warned’ of breast implant illness

Women having breast implants should be warned about a condition linked to chronic pain and extreme fatigue, the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (BAAPS) has said.

Tens of thousands of women on online forums claim they have suffered breast implant illness (BII), of which there is little scientific evidence.

Surgeons, including from BAAPS, are now calling for more research.
