I have watched as all-women’s safe spaces, universities, and sports opened their doors to any man who chose to identify as a woman.
I was astonished that such a huge cultural change as the opening of sex-protected spaces was happening at such a meteoric pace and without consideration for women and girls’ safety, deliberation, or public debate.
Concurrent with these rapid changes, I witnessed an overhaul in the English language with new pronouns and a near-tyrannical assault on those who did not use them.
These elements, along with media saturation of the issue, had me wondering: Is this really a civil rights issue for a tiny part of the population with body dysphoria, or is there a bigger agenda with moneyed interests that we are not seeing?
I found exceedingly rich, white men with enormous cultural influence are funding the transgender lobby and various transgender organizations. These include but are not limited to Jennifer Pritzker (a male who identifies as transgender); George Soros; Martine Rothblatt (a male who identifies as transgender and transhumanist); Tim Gill (a gay man); Drummond Pike; Warren and Peter Buffett; Jon Stryker (a gay man); Mark Bonham (a gay man); and Ric Weiland (a deceased gay man whose philanthropy is still LGBT-oriented). Most of these billionaires fund the transgender lobby and organizations through their own organizations, including corporations.
These men and others, including pharmaceutical companies and the U.S. government, are sending millions of dollars to LGBT causes. Overall reported global spending on LGBT is now estimated at $424 million.
It seems obvious now to look at the money behind transgenderism. Many new markets have opened because of it.
Over the past decade, there has been an explosion in transgender medical infrastructure across the United States and world to “treat” transgender people.
Transgenderism sits square in the middle of the medical industrial complex, which is by some estimates even bigger than the military industrial complex.
Much more important than funds going directly to the LGBT lobby and organizations, only a fraction of which trickles down to assist people who identify as transgender, is the money invested by the men mentioned above, governments, and technology and pharmaceutical corporations to institutionalize and normalize transgenderism as a lifestyle choice. They are shaping the narrative about transgenderism and normalizing it within the culture using their funding methods.
Bodily diversity appears to be the core issue, not gender dysphoria; that and unmooring people from their biology via language distortions, to normalize altering human biology. Institutionalizing transgender ideology does just this. This ideology is being promoted as a civil rights issue by wealthy, white, men with enormous influence who stand to personally benefit from their political activities. http://thefederalist.com/2018/02/20/rich-white-men-institutionalizing-transgender-ideology/#.Wow7W_wn1Dg.twitter
University professors oppose the slanderous allegations against A Woman’s Place UK and support upholding the principles of freedom of speech and assembly in relation to the right of A Woman’s Place UK to hold meetings without participants being intimidated.
A Woman’s Place UK does not provide a platform for hate speech against any group. Its meetings are open to all, and speakers at its events have included trans people. It has never campaigned against the current Gender Recognition Act or the Equality Act. In fact, it is concerned to ensure that the existing rights enshrined in these Acts are protected. The group was set up to discuss the potential impact of proposed reforms to the Gender Recognition Act on existing protections, particularly the effect on women’s sex-based protections under the Equality Act 2010.
Feminists’ attempts to discuss the proposed legislative changes have been met with attempts to shut meetings down by some trans activists, who characterize debate about how legislative change might be established in ways which could uphold both the sex-based rights of women and the rights of trans people as illegitimate, and inherently “transphobic.” We support the right of peaceful protest, but do not support any group which uses physical intimidation to try to silence those with whom it disagrees. https://www.feministcurrent.com/2018/06/07/open-letter-freedom-speech-university-bristol/
A prominent Fresno charity, homeless women, and the transgender community all say they’re experiencing a nightmare come true.
Nine women homeless women signed on to a lawsuit against Naomi’s House and its parent company, the Poverello House, saying the last place they could go to feel safe is now dangerous because they’re forced to shower with a transgender woman.
The Naomi House bills itself as a gentle haven of healing and a safe haven for single, homeless women, but a new lawsuit says it put a lot of women in harm’s way in a very vulnerable spot — the shower.
It says the shelter requires them to shower in groups, and it opened its doors to a person who identified themself as a transgender woman who made lewd and sexually inappropriate comments, and leered at them while they were naked.
Poverello House administrators tell Action News federal law says they have to treat a person identifying as a woman as a woman — and there’s no way to test whether it’s true.
The women say they repeatedly complained to staff members, but were told if they didn’t respect the person’s decision to identify as a woman, and if they refused to take showers at the same time, they’d get kicked out of the shelter. http://abc30.com/homeless-women-harassed-in-shower-lawsuit-says/3514544/
Patrick ‘Tara’ Pearsall, 53, of Toronto, was sentenced on Tuesday to 10 years in prison for two sexual assaults and declared a dangerous offender.
Pearsall, of Toronto, has been taking medication to transition to a woman and began the process after the assaults occurred.
Crown and defence lawyers told the judge that Pearsall is willing to undergo chemical castration and would like to have sex reassignment surgery as soon as possible.
Corrections Canada will decide whether Pearsall serves the sentence in a prison for woman. http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/toronto/transgender-sex-offender-sentence-sexual-assaults-dangerous-offender-1.4673213
A local Labour party has suspended a man who previously made it onto the list of candidates for women’s officer because he “identifies as a woman on Wednesdays”, under their “self-id” rules.
In order to stand for the women-only position, the candidate has to self-identify as a woman, but there are no other stipulations about gender.
David Lewis, a Labour activist, told the Spectator he identifies as a woman “on Wednesdays, between 6.50am when my alarm goes off and around midnight when I go to bed.”
Mr Lewis said he stood as candidate to: “inform the CLP, and maybe some other people, about what this policy means, about what happens when you say that someone’s gender depends only on what they say and nothing else.” https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2018/05/22/labour-allows-male-activist-stand-womens-officer-identifies/
The owner of a local waxing spa is mounting a public campaign to clear the name of his business after he was served a human rights complaint for denying
service to a transgender woman.Jason Carruthers, the president of Mad Wax on Walker Road, said he was surprised at the legal move since he had explained to the complainant that the
spa did not offer Brazilian wax services on male body parts.“I have no male wax staff,” Carruthers said Friday. “We are not able to provide that service.”
A local transgender woman claims she was denied services based on her gender identity and gender expression and is seeking $50,000 for “immense harm to my dignity.”
The complainant, who has asked to remain anonymous, said she called the spa March 17, 2018, to inquire about services for a transgender woman. Following a conversation with an employee, she asked to speak with the owner. Carruthers said he called her back and explained that the female employee working that day was a practising Muslim who refrains from physical contact with males outside of her family. https://genderidentitywatch.files.wordpress.com/2018/05/transgender-woman-files-human-rights-complaint-against-windsor-spa-_-windsor-star.pdf transgender-woman-files-human-rights-complaint-against-windsor-spa-_-windsor-star.pdf
Three hundred women are claimed to have left the Labour party over “all women shortlists” which are inclusive of trans women.
In a letter to The Times, 10 women, accused Labour of being “disingenuous”, adding that support for self-identification “reeks of male authority and male supremacy”.
Continuing, they wrote: “We are dismayed at the Labour Party’s support for sex as a self-identified characteristic for all-women shortlists… We now face a situation in which any man can simply claim to be a woman and be included on all-women shortlists.
“Sex is not a self-defined characteristic and it is disingenuous for Labour to pretend that it is. Self-identity – ‘I am what I say I am’ – reeks of male authority and male supremacy.
“In contrast, women are rarely believed about the sexual violence we face or about harassment on the streets and domestic violence in the home…” http://www.divamag.co.uk/Diva-Magazine/News/Women-quit-Labour-Party-over-trans-self-identification-row/ http://www.bbc.com/news/uk-politics-43962349
In January, a woman was photographed holding a sign at the Vancouver Women’s March that included the words, “Trans ideology is misogyny.” This might be viewed as a hyperbolic message for those who consider themselves good, liberal people and who care about a group they have been informed are in extreme danger, and particularly marginalized. And perhaps, if you were unfamiliar with the way women and feminists are addressed by trans activists, you might wonder what statements like this are rooted in. A few years ago, I might have questioned this as well, thinking, “well that’s a bit much, isn’t it.” But as trans activism has gained ground and as I myself — as well as many other women — have begun questioning and speaking out about the aims, ideology, and policies supported in the name of “trans rights,” it has become impossible to deny what is being supported through trans activism: violence against women.
Liberals and the left have broadly defended violence against women as “art” or “sex,” though perhaps in a less overt way than they have outright threats of violence to feminists who wish to question or discuss the notion of gender identity. Pornography, for example, is one area where violence and abuse is consistently defended on account of it being “sex,” “fantasy,” or “free speech.” The ability of men and their allies to avoid viewing a woman being choked, hit, or gang-raped as “real violence” because it is connected to men’s desire and masturbation is without bounds. Similarly, the notion that a man offering a women financial compensation in exchange for permission to abuse her is framed time and time again as “consent,” regardless of the impact on that woman and the broader message this practice sends to all men and women, everywhere.
What is unique about the approach we’ve seen in the trans movement is that it doesn’t attempt to disguise the incitements to violence against women with rhetoric around “consent” and “empowerment.”
The threats of violence against women, on account of having been branded “TERFs,” are frightening not only because we must fear for our physical safety or because of the way these threats act as a silencing mechanism, but because this violence is not being condemned, by and large, by most.
While the San Fransisco Public Library removed the bloody shirt, they did not remove the exhibit entirely, nor do we know why anyone imagined such a display would be appropriate in the first place. One wonders if they would display bloody shirts with the words, “Kill bitches” or “I beat Muslims” next to a display of baseball bats and axes.
Will liberals and progressives stand up before this gets worse? I fear not. http://www.feministcurrent.com/2018/05/01/trans-activism-become-centered-justifying-violence-women-time-allies-speak/
