New Zealand has enacted a self-identification law that makes it easier to amend the sex recorded on birth certificates. It removes a requirement on applicants to provide evidence of having undergone sex-reassignment procedures.

  1. I think if we would try to identify as Maori while being totally white and without any proof of Maori ancestry, same with Australian Aboriginality, we would not be accepted by those cultures. Yet, being born female is supposed simply to be an assignment open for adoption by males as a self-identity…….
