Drag queen Betty Confetti’s story time event cancelled at Goulburn library after threats to council staff – ABC News

Bathurst-based Betty Confetti was meant to appear at Rainbow Story Time at the Goulburn library on June 3 but the performance was called off on Monday afternoon.

The decision at Goulburn followed the cancellation of a similar drag queen event by Monash City Council and calls to cancel an event in Launceston, which went ahead.

  1. I feel so disappointed as a Lesbian that we get tarnished with this BS about, being out and proud with children. Drag adult’s proselytising is more likely to, potentially confuse or developmentally interfere, with a child’s sexuality and relationships. Let them unfold as they will. By all means perform for and influence adults’ thinking around the LGB so that there is a likelihood of support for adolescents and respecting that Lesbians and Gays exist have a right to be. There are too many fetishes being acknowledged as real choices when they are… fetishes and contribute to erasing Lesbians and Gay men.
