Today a letter from one of the founders of LLL, Marian Tompson, was circulated to members of the organisation, some of whom have passed it to me. Seven women founded La Leche League in 1954, and Marian Tompson was one of them.
As far as I know, only two of them are still alive, and Marian is the only one of those two who have remained actively involved in LLL. Now she has resigned, stating that the organisation has become ‘a travesty of her original intent’, by ‘subtly shifting to include men who…want to have the experience of breastfeeding’.

buh-bye TERF!
The modern day feminist movement deploys a misogyny beyond the scope of popular dystopian novels. Imagine subjecting babies to “chest feeding” manufactured, hormonal goop from a hairy male nipple. Truly a disgusting mockery of womanhood and the beauty of women.
Not the feminist movement. This is the trans movement which works to co-opt other movements to give it legitimacy. No legitimate feminist supports ‘chest feeding’.
It’s sad for an organisation that has done so much for women and families to be torn down this way. Mariane was a pioneer of advocating safety for breastfeeding in women affected by HIV. Whereas now, she claims it’s unsafe to feed milk made by inducing lactation when women have done this for decades for adopted or surrogate babies. If scientists back it, I guess she just doesn’t like the idea of trans women nursing. Which is fine, but don’t pretend it’s because it’s unsafe or twist it into something perverse. If she cared about babies avoiding chemicals and unsafe toxins, she should focus on the formula industry.
Men can’t breastfeed and it sad that people should endanger children by indulging this fetish and pretending they can. It is great to finally see women finally speaking up and acting with courage and integrity to stop this nonsense.
