Melbourne news: Ousted Labor MP Will Fowles arrested over assault allegation

Ousted Labor MP Will Fowles has been arrested and questioned by the Victoria Police sexual crimes squad over assault allegations involving a state government employee.
Police confirmed a 45-year-old man was interviewed on October 12, but was released without charge as part of an ongoing investigation.
Fowles, the member for Ringwood was forced to resign from the parliamentary Labor Party in early August, at the request from former Premier Daniel Andrews.
“The safety of everybody in the workplace is taken very seriously,” Andrews told reporters in August.
