Police in Queensland to have power to issue ‘on-the-spot’ domestic violence orders – ABC listen

Police in Queensland will soon have the power to issue on the spot domestic violence protection orders after new laws passed state parliament yesterday. Queensland Police Minister Dan Purdie says the laws will free police up to respond to more domestic and family violence call-outs.But advocates like the Queensland Council of Social Services say the laws may work against victims.
