We’re delighted to announce the growing line-up of speakers for the Restore Women’s Rights – Fix the SDA Rally on Sunday 23 August.
Joining us in Martin Place will be:
• Sall Grover — Giggle
• Professor Clive Hamilton — philosopher and author
• Anna Kerr — Principal Solicitor, Feminist Legal Clinic
• Professor Dianna Kenny — psychologist
• Lesbian Action Group — currently in litigation with the Australian Human Rights Commission
• Kirralie Smith — women’s sport advocate
• Jasmine Sussex — breastfeeding advocate
• And more speakers to be announced
From 1 pm the rally will hear women speaking out about the impacts for the SDA in a special Women’s Community Voices session.
These speakers bring experience from law, academia, women’s advocacy, sport, freedom of association and frontline campaigns concerning sex-based rights.
The rally will call on the Australian Parliament to restore clear and effective sex-based protections in Australian law and fix the Sex Discrimination Act.
