‘Utterly disgusted’: Target shopper ‘oppressed’ after being escorted for transgender views | Sky News Australia

Launceston resident Jessica Hoyle says she was “utterly disgusted” in the way she was treated by Target after allegedly being ordered to leave the Launceston store because of her transgender views.A non-binary staff member allegedly called her a “TERF” – a term for feminists who exclude transgender women – because Ms Hoyle was wearing clothing with the Lesbian Gay Bisexual Tasmania logo, which does not advocate for transgender people. She said she has never been treated with such homophobia in her life. “I’m not sure how this person can sit there and attack me when I’ve stood up all of my life for my rights as a lesbian woman to exist,” Ms Hoyle told Sky News host Andrew Bolt.“And to be attacked by some 19–22-year-old that wants to go around yelling ‘I’m a victim’.“I don’t think this young person going by non-existent pronouns is being oppressed here – I think the person that’s being oppressed here is myself.”
