When did liberal men start thinking it was acceptable to tell feminists how to be feminist? | The Independent | The Independent

Pregnant with my third child, I faced more than one self-righteous male informing me that ‘biological sex is a construct.’ The arrogance of this is staggering. Every single human being on this planet exists because of the reproductive labour of female bodies.

Ten years ago The Onion published the piece “Man Finally Put In Charge Of Struggling Feminist Movement”. At the time it was intended as satire but, as with much that seemed a joke in the early noughties, one could be forgiven for thinking it has come true today.

  1. The use if the word ‘liberal’ is globally confusing, as it means the opposite ‘down under’ (right) as in the northern hemisphere (left). Self titled ‘Susan (O’Neal) Stryker’ is a classic example of this takeover of feminism – regardless of which side of politics you look at. O’Neal lived his childhood, teenage years and early adulthood as a male, then – in the late 80’s – decided that he was ‘born in the wrong body’ and claimed he was ‘transgender’ (after learning of ‘Rachel’ Perkins). Take a look at O’Neal’s Wikipedia ‘history’. He has a PhD in History – no science, biology, medicine, psychology or relevant qualifications behind him (only his own ‘lived experience’). He claims to have been ‘heavily influenced’ by ‘trailblazing Australian transgender academic Roberta Perkins’. Wikipedia similarly describes Perkins as a ‘sociologist’ with a 1981 BA (Hons) dissertation that ‘surveyed the lives and experiences of drag queens and transsexuals’ – again, no relevant qualifications that would give either of them any academic, peer reviewed, authority to challenge the scientific fact that sex is binary. Compliments of Gender Ideologists oft used ‘entryism’ tactic, O’Neal became ensconced in the Gay Rights movement- and helped morph it into GLBT. He claims he is a lesbian (is married to a woman) and a feminist, and is described as a ‘distinguished academic with degrees in Women’s, Gender and Sexuality studies’. Of course, O’Neal is an autogynephilic male giving his (unequivocally biased) perspective of what women are, think, feel, aspire, deserve. Men, like him, have been putting themselves in charge of feminism since women started to assert their positions as equal. BOTH O’Neal and Perkins look, and sound, like typical drag queens – ugly, derogatory parodies of women. If women stand up for themselves and stop being what these demanding men want, they end up nothing but a pathetic parody of their pathetic dreams.
