A woman has waived her right to anonymity after six men, including her former husband, were charged with more than 60 rapes and sexual assaults against her over 13 years.
Philip Young, 49, faces a total of 56 offences, including 11 rapes, seven charges of assault by penetration, and four counts of sexual touching against Joanne Young, 48, prosecutors said.
Young, formerly of Swindon who now lives in Enfield, north London, is also accused of 11 counts of administering a substance with the intent of stupefying or overpowering to allow sexual activity, 13 counts of voyeurism specific to videos and voyeurism “on at least 200 other occasions”.
The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) said that Young has been charged with possessing 230 indecent images of children, of which 139 are Category A, which are deemed the worst. He is alleged to have been found with three prohibited images and 82 extreme images, with one count each for four types, namely “rape, animals, death and gore”. He also faces a charge of breaching Section 1 of the Obscene Publications Act 1959 on at least 500 occasions.
James Foster, a specialist prosecutor at the CPS, said the charges were laid against the six suspects following a police investigation into alleged serious sexual offences against Joanne Young over a 13-year period.

[Ed: There are no doubt many more Gisele Pelicot type cases yet to emerge.]
