A judge has thrown out the “meaningless” bail conditions Graham Linehan was given after being arrested for gender-critical comments.

The limitations placed on the Father Ted creator were criticised for using the loaded term “victim” when no offence had been proven.

District judge Michael Snow further said that the ban on Mr Linehan contacting his alleged victims was too vague to be applicable, because “anyone from the trans community could take offence”.

Following his release he was initially told he was not allowed to post on X but that was later varied to “not to contact the victims or interfere with the investigation”.

Mr Linehan has since announced his intention to sue the Metropolitan Police for wrongful arrest and a breach of his free speech rights.
