Transgender athletes will be able to participate in community sport in the gender they identify with and not need to prove or justify their identity, according to new guiding principles.

Sport New Zealand said it was essential that community sport leaders were committed to inclusion and could show that commitment by using pronouns in email signatures and communications, and appointing inclusion officers.

  1. How is it not inclusive to have males (however they identify) play on male teams and females (however they identify) play on female teams?

    In the immortal words of Inigo Montoya: you keep on using that word [inclusion]. I do not think it means what you think it means.
